Job Outline

Under the general direction of the General Manager, Golf Operations and as an integral part of the leadership team, the Assistant General Manager ensures a successful, safe, clean, functional and customer service-focused environment for our members, guests and team members. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives. The AGM is a courteous professional interested in growing and promoting the game of golf and ensuring the satisfaction of our members and guests.

The Assistant General Manager, Golf Operations administers and manages the day-to-day operations of Fairway Hills Golf Course, and assists the General Manager in managing and directing all aspects of the Columbia Association Golf Division Operations to include golf shop operations, tournament promotions, golf outings, special events, equipment purchases, and coordinating capital and operating facility improvements. The Assistant General Manager assumes all responsibility of the Golf Division Operations in the absence of the General Manager. The AGM works with the GM and other division leaders to achieve financial goals, deliver exceptional service, promote innovation and team education. This is a challenging position, involving considerable responsibility, complexity and variety.

Experience Required

Requires a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in general management and /or customer service management, retail operations to include inventory management and personnel management the size and quality of CA’s golf operations. Requires an educational background normally equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Business, Hospitality or Sports Management highly preferred. Class A member of PGA/LPGA and/or CMAA membership preferred.
