Lacoma Golf Overview

Lacoma Golf club, the golf leader in the Dubuque, Iowa area is a 45 hole golf complex located in the hills above the Mississippi River in East Dubuque, Illinois.  Founded in 1967 as a nine hole course, Lacoma has grown to include two 18 hole courses and a Par 3 course, a new clubhouse, a separate event center and complete practice facilities.  The clubhouse includes a restaurant called the Grill At Lacoma, a large patio and three golf simulators.

Qualifications

Qualifications include: 5+ years experience in the golf industry in a supervisory role. Strong candidates with non-golf hospitality experience will be considered. Additionally, we seek indivduals with a track record of effectively managing 15+ direct reports including hiring/firing, scheduling, training and providing work direction; a track record of providing excellent experiences to all customers, strong written and verbal communication skills and a bias for action in addressing problems and identifying opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have experience with coordinating events, a track record of building businesses, experience with a computerized POS system, and a BA/BS degree in a relevant field.

Position Overview

Reports to: Owner in charge of Golf Operations and Food and Beverage

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing clubhouse operations and all aspects of the golf course related to golf play. Key responsibilities for the position include the direct supervision of all golf and clubhouse personnel, coordination with the Food and Beverage Manager, Managing Owner, and Golf Course Superintendent to ensure an excellent customer service experience.
