Thunderbird Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional who will be responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operations and provide exceptional service to Thunderbird members and guests. This is a seasonal full-time position running from late October through May. 

Thunderbird Country Club, located in Rancho Mirage, CA, is the first member-owned 18-hole facility in the Coachella Valley. Founded in 1951, Thunderbird hosted the PGA Tour Thunderbird Invitational, which later became the Bob Hope Desert Classic and the American Express Championship. Thunderbird is also the home to the 1955 Ryder Cup.

Experience Required

• LPGA Membership
• At least 2 years of private golf club experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and a TEAM PLAYER
• Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to Thunderbird members and guests.
• Golf Shop opening and closing shifts
• Conduct and direct member golf tournaments. All staff golf professionals will be assigned the responsibility of planning, directing, coordinating and executing Thunderbird member tournaments.
• Be well-versed in applicable software programs, including the GHIN handicap computer
• Knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Software, Jonas Point of Sale and the Tee Time Software
• Assist the Starter when needed
• Teach private golf lessons and conduct weekly clinics with fellow staff professionals
• Send and receive FEDEX and Shipsticks shipments
• Understand the entire operation thoroughly
• Thunderbird Country Club rules and regulations
• Golf Shop rules, policies and procedures
• Schedule
• 6 days per week
• Must have a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
• Expect to work early mornings as well as evenings during specific member golf tournaments
