Seattle, WA | Sand Point Country Club is looking for a passionate, servant-hearted golf professional looking to be mentored by a strong Head Professional and Lead Assistant Professional as part of a vibrant member-service team on a newly renovated David McLay Kidd design. We are seeking a future leader who's experienced enough to join our team in our passionate pursuit of "premium member service, delivered daily" as we develop and execute member-centric programs, playing opportunities and service. These include, but are not limited to: member golf events, outside golf tournaments, leagues, member-oriented service, merchandising, managing the outside staff and assisting with reporting.

Experience Required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Four-year degree preferred, but candidates with two or more years of golf-specific experience and/or training may be considered an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PGA member in good standing or actively pursuant (Associate, Level 2 minimum) preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional effort to deliver memorable and anticipatory customer service to members and their guests
  • Provides exceptional effort to deliver memorable and anticipatory customer service to members and their guests
  • Participates in the accomplishment of tasks, goals and preparations for all golf activities, training new employees, and customer service
  • Under the direction of the HP, this position organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings, tournaments, special events, conducts outside staff training, coaching, etc. as directed. Experience with (and successful use of) Event Man, maximizing its functionality and efficiency a significant plus
  • Under direction of the HP, the Asst models professionalism with tee-time coordination, lesson book, handicapping, etc.
  • Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory
  • Assists in teaching clinics, golf schools, private/group lessons, club fittings and the accurate reporting of these efforts
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and members. Further, modeling PGA professionalism and leadership for subordinates in the Golf Department is a responsibility.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

Benefits

Income & Benefits
Based on the abilities and "member engagement" skills of the candidate, the total income range should range from $55,000-$60,000. The income will be made up of three components including:

  • Base salary of $45,500-50,000 annually: based on experience and qualifications
  • Lesson and Teaching Income of $2k-$10k: based on “member engagement” skills, work with junior programming, clinics; year-round teaching studio available to professional staff for teaching (breakdown of teaching income: 85% to professional)
  • Merchandise commissions on Club/Equipment Sales per incentive policy $500-$1500 annually based on skills of candidate

  • 401k available (5% match) per Club policies (eligible to participate after 180 days of employment)

  • Playing and Practicing Privileges
  • PTO is accrued (176 hours annually); eligible for use after 180 days of employment
  • National/Section/Chapter PGA dues paid while in "good standing"
  • Tournament Allowance per policies/budget ($420/yr for Pro-Member entry fees)
  • Club will pay PGA education and then once qualified continued education up to $400 per year
  • Annual clothing allowance
  • Annual Holiday Bonus

Preferred start date of May 1, 2021 (but employer will be flexible based on the exit/arrival timing needed for successful candidate)
