Vista Valley Country Club is a private golf and social country club located in Vista, California. Established in 1979, designed by Ted Robinson Sr., nestled in the heart of North County San Diego’s Tuscan-esque scenery, Vista Valley Country Club provides a tranquil golf escape for both the novice and experienced players alike. VVCC is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes, undulating fairways and fast greens. Vista Valley Country Club includes a practice range, two short game areas, and a putting green.
The 1st Assistant Golf Professional reports to the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional. This individual will be involved in all aspects of executing a 1st Class Golf Operation, beginning with providing a warm, friendly, and professional member and guest service experience at all times.
The position is responsible for assisting in the entire VVCC Golf Operation including scheduling and training of staff, and assisting the DOG and HP in hiring and disciplining of staff members. Primary duties include Golf Event management, preparation and execution, as well as supervising Golf Shop Staff and Outside Services Staff. A positive attitude, exceptional leadership and team building skills, sales and promotional skills, overseeing the marshaling of the course, managing the daily tee sheet, inventory/merchandise control, and helping to grow the new VVCC Junior Program. Highly developed interpersonal communication abilities will be needed on a daily basis, so all duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all members, and their guests of Vista Valley Country Club.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for service and the game of golf, with a strong desire to obtain a head golf professional position of their own in the near future. Professional development will be a focal point, with opportunities to enhance one's skill set and gain experience in high-level management to prepare for the next career step. This individual must have the availability to work any day of the week.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an assistant golf professional.
• LPGA or PGA Membership Preferred.
• Applicant must be highly motivated to become a Class A LPGA or PGA Member.
• Have a passion to grow as a golf professional.
• Proven track record of successful instruction with students of all ages and abilities.
• TrackMan and/or FlightScope based club-fitting experience is desired.
• Familiarity with GolfGenius software, Microsoft and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen sense of humor and an engaging and outgoing personality.

• Positively engage with all members and guests of Vista Valley Country Club to provide the highest level of services.
• Attend Private Club member functions as a representative of Vista Valley Country Club.
• Play golf with different member groups and their guests, time accordingly in order to build relationships.
• Establish relationships and provide instruction to our members, their family members, and guests through private and group instruction as well as clinics and camps.
• Participate in regular meetings to review financial reports, professional goals, and overall program performance.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of operational budgets.
• Maintains the standard as defined by the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional for providing exceptional experiences for all members and their guests.

• Assists in leading a team which successfully provides an exceptional experience for all members and guests on VVCC property.
• Assists in preparation and execution of all outside golf events including pre-event set up, hosting, course set up, pace of play, scoring, prize distribution, and verification of food and beverage needs of the outside clients.
• Supports and takes the lead on a rotational basis in the execution of small and large golf tournaments and weekly pick-up games.
• Assists with all aspects of merchandise operation including inventory control, special orders, ordering procedures, receiving procedures, display and sales.
• Tee sheet management.
• Tournament Operations.
• Directly responsible for supervising, training, and scheduling of Outside Services Staff to assure the highest quality of customer service is achieved.
• Oversees and reports issues with the golf car fleet, cart barns, practice facility, and club storage facility.
• Assists with the development and execution of junior golf and beginner golf instructional programs.
• Provides club-fitting and club repair services as needed.
• Assist with day to day golf shop operations.
• All other duties necessary to ensure member and guest satisfaction including protection of VVCC assets, and increasing revenues.
