ABOUT THE PKBGT:       

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour is a 501(3)c non-profit foundation initiative founded in 1997 as a venue for aspiring collegiate golfers in the Carolinas to develop, compete, and be recognized. The tour host events across the East Coast and has active members from over 35 states and Canada.  In our history, more than 870 alumni have advanced to the collegiate and/or professional ranks. We aim for a positive environment to grow and sustain girl’s golfers thru skill/yardage appropriate, quality competitions. In 2019, the PKBGT offers a year-round tournament schedule featuring 95 one, two and three day events for players of various skill levels.

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • To promote, market and develop current and new junior girls golf tournaments operated by the PKBGT
  • Reports to Tour Director Mike Parker, works as part of 5 person team

 

KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Creating and nurturing relationships with families, courses and sponsors to cultivate the tours mission of growing girls’ golf
  • Develop and execute strategies to promote tour through social media, blog posts, etc…
  • Develop custom content to engage membership thru social media outlets
  • Work with PKBGT partners to increase engagement by our membership and grow participation
  • Maintain high standard of product while staying within a set budget
  • Assist in on-site operation of tournaments 
  • Assist in customer service support via phone, email & web site

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a full-time position and open until filled, starting no later than January 6, 2020
  • Salary range is $30,000 – $35,000 based on experience
  • Requires work and travel on both weekdays and weekends to support events
  • All travel, meals and lodging expenses covered while traveling in addition to staff apparel
  • There are no medical or retirement benefits with this position
  • Potential to reside outside Greensboro, NC but inside PKBGT geographic area required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred at least (2) years’ experience in the golf, marketing or communications industries
  • Experience in communications, writing or content development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word and Google Suite, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
  • Proficient with Wordpress, HTML, Canva, Photoshop & video editing are a plus
  • Passion & desire to develop an non-profit golf foundation, especially girls’ golf development
  • A strong attention to detail in planning and executing events and programs
  • Ability to interact and communicate with adults and children in a professional manner
  • Experience playing competitive golf and/or directing events is a plus
