Offering one of the area's finest country club and golf experiences, the parkland design located on the South Coast of Massachusetts, provides the low handicap golfer a true test of the game while also providing an excellent range of course layouts for both competition and the recreational golfer. The Club's Par 71 Championship golf course was designed by PGA Tour Professional, Brad Faxon in conjunction with golf course architect, Brad Booth. The course offers six layouts ranging from 5,080 to 7,008 yards.  The Bay Club is the only Certified Silver Audubon Signature Sanctuary in Massachusetts, with 88% of the original forest still preserved. Our 10-acre practice facility includes a 325-yard long driving range and practice green near the first tee. We have a short-game practice area with a variety of challenges for perfecting approach shots, pitching, chipping and sand shot skills. And a teaching area is available for members to take lessons with our golf professionals. 

In the colder months, we offer a heated Winter Golf Center complete with hitting bays, putting green, chipping stations and a golf simulator.  Programs are tailored for the youngest players through the more serious, low handicap golfer as well as those just beginning to enjoy the game. In addition to a variety of tournaments and golf events throughout the playing season, the professional staff organizes several winter golf school trips and outings for both men and women.  Together with our indoor winter practice facility, golf conditioning classes and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Fitness Assessments at the Sports and Activities Center, golf can be a year-round activity for Bay Club Members.

Experience Required

- Experience in the golf industry at a private club is preferred but not required

- Personality must be: outgoing, engaging, service-driven, and highly motivated

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a clean, professional appearance is a must

- Experience using Golf Genius is preferred but not required

- Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

- Must have strong desire to learn and grow skills necessary to become a head golf professional

Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the Day to Day operations, including but not limited to:

- Serve as an ambassador to the Bay Club at Mattapoisett by providing exceptional customer service to both the club members and their guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.

-  Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional

- Assisting the oversight of the daily golf operation

- Tournament set-up and execution for a robust tournament schedule using Golf Genius

- Assisting in golf shop merchandising including receiving of goods and display creation

- Assist in club fitting days with vendors

- Teach golf to members through private instruction and group clinics

- Enjoy being active in running junior golf programs

- Possess the desire to further develop the skills necessary to become a head golf professional including administration of the golf operation, tournament operations, merchandising, and golf instruction

- All successful candidates must be a PGA apprentice or member in good standing and have desire to maintain and further develop their golf game

- Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services

- Position will run from April 7, 2019-November 2, 2019 (30 weeks) 

*Start time negotiable in year one depending on winter employment obligations
