ABOUT THE PKBGT:       

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour is adding a 2nd full-time Tournament Director position to compliment our current staff. The tour was founded in 1997 as a venue for aspiring collegiate golfers in the Carolinas to develop, compete, and be recognized. The tour host events across the East Coast and has active members from over 33 states and Canada.  In our history, more than 650 alumni have advanced to the collegiate and/or professional ranks. We aim for a positive environment to grow and sustain girl’s golfers thru skill/yardage appropriate, quality competitions. In 2018, PKBGT will offer a year-round tournament schedule featuring nearly 75 one, two and three day events for players of various skill levels.

JOB SUMMARY

  • To organize, develop and direct nationally-ranked, competitive junior golf tournaments operated by the PKBGT
  • Reports to Tour Director Mike Parker

 

KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Creating and nurturing relationships with families, courses and sponsors to cultivate the tours mission of growing girls’ golf
  • Maintain high standard of product while staying within a set budget
  • Responsible for securing and overseeing assistants, rules officials and volunteers for each event
  • Develop and execute strategies to promote tour through social media, blog posts, etc…
  • Work with PKBGT partners to increase engagement by our membership and grow participation
  • Assist in customer service support via phone, email & web site
  • Assist in the promotion, fundraising and management of sponsors and corporate partners

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a full-time position and open until filled, starting in the summer of 2018
  • Salary range is $30,000 – $35,000 based on experience
  • Requires travel on both weekdays and weekends for events, including up to 3 weekends a month in peak season
  • All travel, meals and lodging expenses covered while traveling in addition to staff apparel
  • There are no medical or retirement benefits with this position
  • Potential to reside in the Southeast or Middle Atlantic region, either in Greensboro, NC or other locale TBD

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred at least (2) years’ experience in the golf or event management industries
  • Passion & desire to develop an non-profit golf foundation, especially girls’ golf development
  • A strong attention to detail in planning and executing events and programs
  • Ability to interact and communicate with adults and children in a professional manner
  • USGA Rules of Golf training a plus
  • Experience playing competitive golf and/or directing events is a plus
  • Proficient  with Microsoft Excel & Word and Google Suite, additional experience with Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, HTML, Photoshop & Shotstat or other tournament operations software are a plus
