Position Description:

The General Manager/Director of Golf directs all aspects of the facility including its clubhouse, golf, food & beverage, and administrative operations. Coordinates and oversees the entire staff and monitors the quality of products and services to maximize customer satisfaction.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Providing a high level of consistent service to members and guests
  • Skilled as a business person through demonstrated success in personnel and operational budget adherence
  • Maximizing revenues while reducing costs and maintaining an exceptional level of customer service
  • Overseeing daily golf and food and beverage operations
  • Ownership and management of a full service golf shop to include but not limited to merchandising, professional club repair and club fitting
  • Promoting and coordinating the club’s complete golf, customer development, and food and beverage programs
  • Recruitment of new members and retention of current members
  • Hiring, training, supervising, and developing golf and food and beverage staff supervisors
  • Promoting and coordinating group outings and events for members and customers
  • Providing lessons, clinics, and junior golf development programs
  • Managing golf car and practice range operations
  • Interpreting and administrating club policies and The Rules of Golf
  • Maintaining regular communication and interaction with the Board of Directors

  • Commitment to delivering a superior golf experience
  • Ability to interact with the customer and generate interest in club activities from all customer segments
  • Excellent marketing and promotion skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to utilize golf 

Experience / Qualifications:

Including, but not limited to, the following:

  • LPGA Class A member in good standing
  • 2 years Head Golf Professional experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience with a private golf facility preferred
  • Proven financial and budget acumen including experience managing budgets, analyzing results, maintaining costs and meeting reporting deadlines
  • Demonstrated record of developing, promoting and expanding all club activities
  • Established record of providing superior member service and staff training and development
