ABOUT:  Collier's Reserve Country Club is a unique and boutique private, residential community of 224 single-family homes nestled peacefully along the Cocohatchee River.  The golf course was designed by Arthur Hills and is located in a town widely recognized as the "golf capital of the world."  Collier's Reserve offers the best, most uniquely natural golfing experience and is the world’s first Audubon Signature Sanctuary.  The golf course and practice facilities underwent a renovation in 2021 and reopened on November 1, 2021.  The renovation included new greens, tees, bunker sand, drainage, shorelines, complete regrassing, and new practice facilities and short game area.  The Club has a membership of 300 and currently has a waitlist. 

SUMMARY:  We are seeking a First Assistant Golf Professional to enhance the golf experience for the membership and their guests.  This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Golf Operation with numerous activities relating to the management and operation of the Club’s golf program.  The First Assistant Golf Professional is a full-time year-round position and will gain valuable experience in providing members and their guests with professional golf services while assisting the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional with all aspects of the Golf Operation.

HOURS/DAYS:  The First Assistant Golf Professional works the necessary hours to facilitate the delivery of exceptional service to the membership.  The anticipated schedule is a 5-day work week.  Weekends & Holidays are a necessity to this position.  Generally, the hours of the Golf Shop are from October 15 – May 15 are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM and from May 16 – October 14 are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:

  • Greet members and guests upon arrival.
  • Day-to-day operation of the Golf Shop including opening or closing of the Golf Shop and accurate billing and message taking.
  • Assist the Merchandise Manager with inventory, merchandise display, and keeping the Golf Shop neat and clean.
  • Assist in monitoring the Practice Tee and providing support to the Starters & Player Services team.
  • To have a good working knowledge of the Northstar POS, ForeTees, Golf Genius, and GHIN software.
  • To be available for all club events and assist in all tournament activities.
  • Perform club repair.
  • Provide quality instruction to the membership.
  • Report to work as assigned neatly dressed and in accordance with Club uniform, grooming and dress policies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

  • Must possess the ability to operate computers and to utilize the ForeTees System.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must be a team player and service oriented.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • PGA/LPGA member preferred with three to five years of experience.  Must stay current on PGA/LPGA study materials and have a strong desire to become a Head Golf Professional.
  • Knowledgeable of the Rules of Golf.
  • Emergency first aid certification preferred.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communicational skills and ability to interact professionally with members and guests at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. 
  • The associate is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
  • The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust/focus.
