 Salary: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 Per Year

Overview

The Assistant Golf Professional primarily interacts with members and guests, and will be most influential in generating retail sales for the club golf shop. The Assistant Golf Professional conscientiously tends to the golfing needs of the members and guests, ensuring that every step of the golfing experience at the club runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible. This individual also works closely with the Outside Golf Staff and 2nd Assistant Golf Professional to coordinate all golf related activities.

Experience Required

Thorough knowledge of the general business procedures as would normally through a secondary education.

Through knowledge of the general administration practices and professional golf operations practices and procedures as would be acquired through two years of similar professional golf experience in progressively responsible positions. Prior supervisory experiences preferred but not required.

Essential Responsibilities

Ensure that all member and guest are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner.

Answer questions and provide assistance and information to customers.

Answer telephones to schedule future starting times and communicate the information in a pleasant and professional manner.

Accurately operate point of sale system, verify the accuracy of prices of state and local taxes and other charges on all sales tickets. 

Assist in the development of standards and maintain responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of Golf Shop storage areas and merchandise displays.

Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, fit golfers, and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.

Anticipate the needs off members and guests and offer merchandise alternatives.

Ensure that the displays are kept at par stock inventory levels at all times and that the appearance of the displays meets or exceed our standards.

Responsible for managing, opening, closing, and securing Golf Shop storage areas using established procedures.

Promote golf by teaching and conducting special clinics, and staffing club tournament events which are established by the Head Golf Professional.

Maintain golf shop revenue generated through golf shop sales.

Ensure proper pricing of merchandise. Assist with physical inventories as scheduled. Enter merchandise into Point-of-Sale System.

Maintain high profile with membership and guests and positively promote the service philosophy of Oxbow Country Club.

Play golf with membership weekly.

Maintain the course’s golf handicap system.
