ABOUT THE PKBGT:
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour was founded in 1997 as a venue for aspiring collegiate golfers in the Carolinas to develop, compete, and be recognized. The tour host events across the East Coast and has active members from over 36 states and Canada. In our history, more than 1,200 alumni have advanced to the collegiate and/or professional ranks. We aim for a positive environment to grow and sustain girl’s golfers thru skill/yardage appropriate, quality competitions. In 2021, the PKBGT offers a year-round tournament schedule featuring over 130 one, two- and three-day events for players of various skill levels.
JOB SUMMARY
- To promote, market and develop the mission of the Girls Golf of America Foundation through the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tournaments and other foundation events and fundraisers
- Reports to Tour Director Mike Parker
KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Creating and nurturing relationships with families, courses, and sponsors to cultivate the foundations mission of growing girls’ golf through improved access to quality, competitive opportunities
- Develop and execute strategies to promote PKBGT through social media, blog posts, etc…
- Develop custom content to engage membership thru social media outlets
- Create weekly promotional email to tour membership to engage and promote tour offerings
- Work with PKBGT partners to increase engagement by our membership and grow participation
- Maintain high standard of product while staying within a set budget
- Assist in on-site operation of tournaments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred at least (2) years’ experience in the golf, marketing, or communications industries
- Experience in communications, writing or content development
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word and Google Suite, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
- Proficient with Wordpress, HTML, Canva, Photoshop & video editing are a plus
- Passion & desire to develop a non-profit golf foundation, especially girls’ golf development
- A strong attention to detail in planning and executing events and programs
- Ability to interact and communicate with adults and children in a professional manner
- Experience playing competitive golf and/or directing events is a plus
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- This is a full-time position and open until filled, starting in Fall of 2021
- Salary range is $35,000 – $45,000 based on experience
- Requires work and travel on both weekdays and weekends to support events
- All travel, meals and lodging expenses covered while traveling in addition to staff apparel
- There are no medical or retirement benefits with this position
