Through education, motivation, and leadership the Teaching Professional will demonstrate and instruct guests/clients the techniques and fundamentals of golf. The Teaching
Professional will contribute to the overall success of the Golf Academy by
embodying the mission, vision and values of the Golf Club.

Primary Respinsibilties:

  • Promotes the game with qualitygolf instruction to beginning through advancedinstruction (private and group) for all levels of players in a safe, professional manner while following the Dana Rader philosophy.  Teach our
    students how to transfer the skills they learn in our lessons, clinics and/or
    schools to the golf course.
  • Responsible for cultivating a book of business and to assist in marketing schools,clinics, and other activities within the Golf Academy. 
    Continue to grow the number of lessons provided by introducing new
    players to the game and by providing superior golf instruction to veteran
    players.
  • Offers a positive club fitting experience while ensuring each customer receives exceptional service leading to maximized sales by finding the right products, providing creative solutions, and creating results to dramatically improved performance.
  • Offers accurate and up-to-date information and advice on golf. 
    Brings and implements new ideas, innovation, and refinement to their teaching and to the golf school.  Each instructor is expected to read books
    within the industry, as well as outside, for best practices’ trends and
    collective wisdom for our team.  Effectively utilize all of the latest technology to increase the learning environment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment within the Golf Club.
  • Follows all quality assurance and other policies and procedures of the Golf Club.
  • All instructors must be class A PGA or LPGA certified or must be in the process of certification.  All instructors must keep up with continuing
    education points to remain in good standing with PGA, LPGA, and the Golf
    Academy.  Instructors shall not fall behind in either their CU’s or in the testing process. 
  • Adjust schedule as needed to accommodate the needs of clients; current available hours require afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to schedule, check-in, check-out and set-up clients within the Golf Academy’s operating systems as needed.  Assist in daily
    operations including but not limited to set-up and breakdown of lessons,
    schools, and clinics.

Qualifications:

Education/ Experience:

  • Minimum LPGA/PGA
    Apprenticeship or LPGA/PGA Member
  • 3-5 years’ experience as
    an instructor

Preferred Certification and/or License:

  • Certified Instructor for
    the LPGA/PGA
  • CPR, AED and First Aid
    certification

Skills:

  • Ability to deliver a confident, well-structured golf lesson to all ages and abilities. Instructors are evaluated by the performance of their students.  It is our plan to do everything within our power to lower the scores for all our students.
  • Ability to eliminate the intimidation factors all new golfers have that deter them from becoming lifelong golfers.
  • Increase the number of juniors playing the game on a regular basis at our facility.
  • Applicants must understand and have a thorough knowledge of golf and the related equipment and technology.
  • Enthusiastic about golf and patience teaching basic skills to beginners.
  • Experience working with and instructing golf to groups with sizes of 8 or more.
  • Desire to learn and improve as a teaching professional.
  • Ability to deliver company philosophy and customer service standards.
  • Good communication skills and ability to instruct and teach. 
    Educate our students on the causes and effects in their golf swing, which will enable them to self-evaluate their swing mid-round to maximize their scoring potential and minimize the repetition of mistakes.
  • Must be patient, a courteous listener and able to show empathy.
  • Must be tactful in insuring the privacy of each guest.

WorkingConditions:

Frequently works in outside conditions.  Shifts for the position do vary and you will be required to work nights, and/or weekends. Job requires standing for long periods of time and demonstration of proper golf techniques and the physical ability to move up to 50 pounds.

Physical/ Cognitive Activities:

The major responsibilityof this position is to provide golf instruction services.  Ability to interact with guests and other team members is key in this position and so requires the ability to listen as well as communicate effectively.

  • Consistent uniform attire required.  Will define further.
  • All staff members will be accountable for their roles, duties, performance, attitude and actions at the club.
  • Instill the importance of becoming proactive and focusing on planning in an effort to eliminate all possible hurdles in our daily teaching operation.
  • Provide a learning
    atmosphere that will help turn any perceived weaknesses into strengths through
    education, delegation and added responsibility.
  • All customers must either prepay or pay at the time of service
  • Must use our reservation and POS systems.
