Golf Academy of America – San Diego
campus, is looking for a full-time LPGA Teaching Professional at the San Diego,
CA location. Golf Academy of America
(GAA) is the oldest and most successful golf career college offering a 2-year
Associates’ Degree in Golf Complex Operations & Management. GAA was founded in 1974 and now has more than
11,000 graduates in our history. The San
Diego campus is a modern educational facility equipped with the state-of-the-art
Technology Center.
The ideal candidate would be a PGA
Member with a storied career eager to train and influence a new wave of golf
professionals into the golf industry. The
PGA Professional is part of the GAA Instructional team at GAA-San Diego and is primarily
responsible for:
Classroom Instruction (40%) – a majority of time will be spent teaching golf and
business related classes in an educational classroom setting
Tournament Administration (15%) – leading the student Tournament Committee to successful
administration of weekly student tournaments at tournament sites
Golf Instruction/Playing Lessons (20%) – teaching golf lessons/clinics to our students training
them on the latest technologies including Trackman, V1, K-Vest, SAM Putt Lab,
BodiTrak, and Edufii.
Administrative (20%)
– organizing files, preparing for classes, grading assignments, accreditation
documentation
Campus Events (5%)
– participating in campus-wide events
Note: Time
Allocation will depend on individual skill sets and classes taught

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred, Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates Degree considered in a related
Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences or Golf Complex Operations degree with
3 years minimum experience directly related to the duties and
responsibilities specified. - Required, Associates Degree, LPGA Class-A Member with strong
speaking and interpersonal communication
skills. - Preferred, experienced
golf instructor with formal group instruction experience. - Instructor
should have the ability to organize and prepare classroom presentations
in a very enthusiastic, interesting and professional manner.
Skills:
- Computer skills including
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for effective classroom
presentations and administration - Tournament Software experience
for Tournament Administration - Club Repair/Fitting background or
knowledge preferred for Club Repair Lab and Club Fittings - Rules of Golf background
or working knowledge preferred
