Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Assists Golf Professional with numerous activities relating to the management and operation of the club's golf program including the management of day-to-day golf operations, supervision of the total golf operations with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all members and their guests.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Actively pursuing PGA membership in a PGA Professional Golf Management program
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Experienced in written and oral business communications
- Proficient using Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two- or four-year degree
- Current PGA of America membership in good standing with an active classification
- Maintains a credible golf game
- Proficient in other applications, (e.g., tournament software and databases)
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures
- Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the Golf Pro Shop
- Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up and billing charges
- Keeps Golf Pro Shop counter and club repair area neat, clean and organized at all times
- Maintains complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information
- Stays up-dated and current on all upcoming club events
- Maintains playing ability and works to remain competent in all areas of the game
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service and customer-focused attitude
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
- Acts as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
- Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community

Job Tasks/Duties
- Assists with golfer check-in; control and manage play
- Assists with all opening and closing procedures
- Assists in managing facility tournament operations including weekly events
- Assists in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, post- tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, scoring, prize distribution, and follow up
- Assists with men's, women's, and junior golf events and programs
- Assists with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved
- Assists in managing golf car operation, practice facility, and club storage service
- Provides club repair services to members and their guests
- Helps to maintain the Club's USGA Handicap System
- Manages inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures, pricing procedures, display, and sales
- Plays golf with a variety of member's in competitive and non-competitive situations
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, with emphasis on promoting employee health and safety
- Attends conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends, as required
