Position Description Summary
Overall accountability for PGA TOUR Golf Academy at World Golf Village.
Director to manage operations, private lesson revenue growth, execution of golf schools, integration with host resort and facility teams (where applicable), manage and cultivate team of staff instructors, develop and integrate innovative instruction programs and deliver financial objectives as outlined by management.
Preferred Criteria/Experience
- Previous Director of Instruction experience or leadership position (Preferred)
- PGA Member (Preferred)
- Ability to demonstrate a successful and sustainable track record of success with building a private lesson client base.
- Drive incremental revenue and understand certain marketing techniques
Brief Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead team to excellence
- Represent PGA TOUR Academy at the highest level
- Create a collaborative team environment
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with host facility staff
- Engineer and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a golf school
- Train and Maintain standards of operational excellence in all areas of PGA TOUR Academy instruction and operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
- Host facility staff meetings regularly
- Hold staff accountable for attendance, appearance, teaching methods and knowledge
- Maintain the proper processes in place to manage the budget and hold the staff accountable for short falls in revenue numbers
- Coach, Counsel, Interview, Hire and terminate employees as necessary
- Adhere and hold team accountable to policies & procedures
Successful Candidate will possess the following Skills, Aptitude and Knowledge:
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
- Proper use of written and oral communication skills for non-routine information requiring tact and persuasion
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges as they arise
- Continue to increase education in all areas of golf instruction and continue to update skill level to maintain knowledge of industry trends
- Ability to identify opportunities and challenges within the operation and present recommendations/solutions to management.
- Demonstrate a desire to continue to learn and improve a golf instructor
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment
