Position Description Summary

 

Attend PGA TOUR Golf Academy training and certification to be complete within 60 days.

 

  • Use professional judgment and expertise to recommend teaching and learning content and create custom lesson plans for students of varying skill levels.
  • Recommend appropriate services for each student, including Club Fitting, playing lessons, short game lessons, etc.
  • Document each lesson given and publish recaps to our online portal using PGA TOUR Golf Academy software
  • Take an active role in promoting PGA TOUR Golf Academy and the game of golf in your local community.
  • Maintain the PGA TOUR Golf Academy environment, equipment and technology.
  • Perform daily opening & closing functions for the Academy, including preparing Academy teaching systems for use. (Includes set up and break down of lesson tee.)
  • Participate in continuing education to enhance skills (distance learning, PGA Section seminars, etc.).
  • As a PGA TOUR Golf Academy Instructor, you are expected to be passionate, approachable, educational, encouraging and proud.
  • Maintain high energy levels from the first to last lesson every day.
  • Mobility is an essential function of this career. Coaches generally need physical capabilities to stand, bend, kneel or crouch for sometimes extended periods and lift items weighing more than 30 pounds.
  • As a member team, you will be expected to run with additional tasks as requested by the Director of Instruction, other team members, and or Corporate Management team to make your Training Center a successful operation.

 

Preferred Criteria/Experience

 

  • Previous Instruction experience (Preferred)
  • PGA Member (Preferred)
  • Ability to demonstrate a successful and sustainable track record of success with building a private lesson client base.
  • Experiences with Junior golf development, past training certifications in junior programs
  • Drive incremental revenue and understand certain marketing techniques
  • Certifications in Trackman, FlightScope, SAM putt lab, AimPoint, Boditrak, or other similar learning tracks that would be a major plus
  • Must be well skilled in computers, software, communication methods using Outlook and other MS products

 

 

Successful Candidate will possess the following Skills, Aptitude and Knowledge:

 

 

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Proper use of written and oral communication skills for non-routine information requiring tact and persuasion
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges as they arise
  • Continue to increase education in all areas of golf instruction and continue to update skill level to maintain knowledge of industry trends
  • Ability to identify opportunities and challenges within the operation and present recommendations/solutions to management.
  • Demonstrate a desire to continue to learn and improve a golf instructor
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment
