In the natural setting of Northwest Arkansas, the Bella Vista golf courses are some of the
most beautiful and challenging in the central United States.  Bella Vista offers five regulation18-hole courses, 2 nine-hole courses, and Tanyard Creek Practice Facility.

Position Concept: The Teaching Professional will assist with the development and implementation of the golf instruction program for Bella Vista.  The position will be
housed in our Tanyard Creek Practice facility and target teaching programs toward adults, seniors and junior customers. This position will provide professional instruction and club fitting including private golf lessons, group clinics and assist with the marketing of new and existing player development programs to the facility’s customers and the community.

Teaching Professional will report to the Golf Operations Manager.

Prioritized Keys to Successful Performance

#1 Provide 1st Class Golf Instruction Program and customer experience to Members and Guests.     

#2 Meet monthly and annual club fitting and sales goals.

#3 Train and supervise Tanyard Creek Practice Facility staff.

#4 Manage day to day operations of Tanyard Creek Practice Facility

Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:

  • Implementand execute all facets of the golf instruction program.
  • Oversee Tanyard Creek practice facility and the day-day operations to include but not limited to hiring and training staff.
  • Research and incorporate state of the art teaching methods.
  • Custom fit all types of clubs to individual specifications.
  • Develop,organize, and assist current Golf Professionals with our junior program, PGA Junior League Golf, summer program, individual lessons, rules and etiquette.
  • Assist with the development of programming designed to attract new and existing
    golfers.
  • Assist with the implementation of a men’s and women’s instructional program; clinics
    and team clinics, individual lessons, rules and etiquette
  • Give personal instruction when not engaged in other aspects of the golf instruction
    program.
  • Responsible for accurate recordkeeping of all lesson data including but not limited to
    bookings, lessons given and remuneration.
  • Report on instruction program data on a regular basis.
  • Monitor training aids, video equipment, launch monitors, etc. to ensure all are
    up-to-date and in good working order.
  • Assist Retail Manager with merchandising of the golf shop.
  • In addition to these responsibilities you will work in conjunction with the
    Director of Golf, Golf Operations Manager and other Golf Supervisors to ensure
    proper staffing and assistance for every aspect of the golf operation.

Knowledge, Skills and Traits

  • Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
  • Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA
  • Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and
    tournament operations
  • Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
  • Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic
    expected of all employees
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
  • Service and customer focused attitude
  • Experienced in written and oral business communications
  • Remain up-to-date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies
  • Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs.
  • Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other
    applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database
  • Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
  • Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends
  • Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations

 

Educational
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current PGA Apprentice or PGA Member

Qualifications:

  • 3 years teaching and club fitting experience preferred

The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with
experience and qualifications. This includes but not limited to:
