An entry level, assistant golf professional position is now available.  The successful candidate is service oriented, well-groomed with an upbeat and pleasant personality.  We need a person with a great attendance record who enjoys the golf business and is looking to enter the LPGA or PGA apprentice program…or who is already enrolled.  A strong background in golf is required with decent playing skills.

The position includes an active role in the Golf Shop, including managing and tracking play, assisting with sales and merchandise functions, tournament operations, and providing professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience to Members and guests.  Outside services is a role that we all share as needed.

The Peninsula Golf and Country Club is a private, 18 hole facility located in San Mateo, CA.  The Club was established in 1911 and is the only Donald Ross designed course west of Colorado.  Peninsula is an active, family oriented facility which includes tennis, swimming and fitness programs.

Specific Responsibilities:

Possess a personality trait that will make people feel welcome, reflecting favorably on the facility.

Provide excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance.

Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.

 Work with the Head Golf Professional and staff to assure quality service and instruction.

 Complete the requirements of LPGA Membership and maintain an active classification.

 Assist in supervision and management of the golf operation in a professional and efficient manner including the opening and closing of the golf shop per posted schedule.

Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection.

Tournament Operations both  Member and sponsored

Be informed on and promote all club activities and services. 

Computer knowledge – Point of Sales and tournament program software

Assist with the Junior Golf programs

Play and practice golf on a regular basis
